Unable to start TNSQM client

Problem(Abstract)

Hit by the following error upon launching the thick client:-
"Cannot access the deployment server"

Symptom

The following exceptions can be seen in the TNSQM thick client's trace log file after enabled:-

Cause

Missing directories


Diagnosing the problem

Ping the affected server and its alive. You're required to enable DEBUG4 trace level for thick client in order to see the details.

Resolving the problem

The following message window can be observed:-



In order to rectify on the above, you'll need to login to the TNSQM Application Server and ensure the existence of these directories:-

(a) $WMCROOT/lib/ext/server
(b) $WMCROOT/lib/ext/desktop

If both of the above are missing, you are required to recreate and relaunch the thick client. The outcome will be a successful launch and login.
