On Mac OS X 10.8, when you download Symphony 3.0.1 Mac install package from Symphony website and attempt to install it, you may receive the following message:
This error is caused by the new security feature Gatekeeper in Mac OS X 10.8, which only allows applications that are downloaded directly from Apple store to launch. You can refer to the following article on Apple's website for details on how Gatekeeper works,
Apple - Security Features in OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion (http://www.apple.com/osx/what-is/security.html)
For workaround installation options for Symphony 3.0.1, please refer to:
Apple Article ID HT5290 (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5290).
This workaround is also acceptable for other Mac OS versions which have Gatekeeper installed.
