You are installing Sametime Connect client in silent mode and it crashes.
Command used for installation is:
setup.exe /s /v"/L* \"%temp%\IBM_Lotus+SameTime+Connect_Main.log\" /qb
INSTALLDIR=\"%programfiles(x86)%\Sametime\"
STSILENTINIFILE=\"silentinstall.ini\" STSILENTINSTALL=TRUE "
Environment

Diagnosing the problem
Go through the install logs of Sametime Connect Client generated as a result of the silent install using the command pasted above. It will be generated in the following file and folder.
\"%temp%\IBM_Lotus+SameTime+Connect_Main.log
You will see the the following error in log file:
MSI (s) (BC!D0) [14:52:35:210]: PROPERTY CHANGE: Modifying
PLATFORM_NOT_RUNNING property. Its current value is 'true'. Its new
value: 'false'.
XPD: 9/20/2012 14:52:35 GenerateInfo/CheckIfPlatformRunningExec: ERROR
- Detection platform instance, to a running program
ID:4044。Before continuing to the end of the execution
platform"
The error above means there was an older version of Sametime Connect client already
running on target system where you were trying to install the new client.
It was running while the new installation was in progress thus causing the failure of new client install.
Resolving the problem
Make sure that the environment is clean and no older or current version of Sametime client are running on the system and have been removed successfully from the machine.
Make make sure all Microsoft applications like Outlook etc, are stopped and no processes seen in Task Manager.
Also delete all contents of %temp% folder and "%APPDATA%\Lotus\Sametime" folder.
