Alert: Data Warehouse upgrade from 3.0.1 to 4.0 fails with Oracle database

Abstract

This flash alert is meant to inform you of a defect with IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) where upgrading the Data Warehouse from 3.0.1 to 4.0 fails when using Oracle as the backend database.

Content

This issue is caused by Defect 213909 (APAR PM72717) which has been resolved in RTC 4.0.0.1.


Impacted environment

This defect only affects RTC instances using Oracle as the backend database.



Recommendation

  • If you have not yet upgraded to 4.0, upgrade to RTC 4.0.0.1 instead.

  • If you have already attempted to upgrade your server and have resulted in this error, you will need to restore your instance to the previous version, and contact IBM Client Support for a hot fix before attempting the upgrade again to 4.0.

  • If you have already upgraded to 4.0, contact IBM Client Support for a 4.0 hot fix.
