Abstract
Content Manager OnDemand for Multiplatforms V8.5.0.6 has identified and fixed memory leaks which may impact customers using previous 8.5 versions and have also added performance enhancements to the product.
Content
Customers running versions of Content Manager OnDemand V8.5 prior to V8.5.0.6 are encouraged to upgrade.
Identified memory leaks
Platform | Description |
Multiplatforms | A leak involving gskit |
A leak involving logins
A potential leak involving ODBC
AIX only | A per thread memory leak |
While minor in size, these leaks are cumulative and therefore would eventually impact long running or heavily used systems with increased memory usage. The increased memory usage has been shown to impact performance over time.
Performance enhancements
Platform | Description |
Multiplatforms | TSM connection pooling |
arsmaint -v performance enhancement
Unload performance from cache enhancement
AIX Only | Increased executable page size to 64kb pages from 4kb pages |
External commands are now processed via a helper thread to increase performance on systems with large memory footprints |
