Resolving Web Admin installation and configuration issues on Windows 7 and Vista in IBM Filenet Content Services

Problem(Abstract)

While installing IBM Filenet Content Services Web Admin tool the "error : configure default website on port 80" is reported

Cause

IIS6 Management compatibility feature is not installed.

Resolving the problem

To resolve the installation issue, enable IIS with IIS6 Management compatibility and "Application Development Features" under "World Wide Web Services" .

To configure IIS7 for Web Admin tool follow the below steps:

1. To allow ASP pages :
a. Go to "ISAPI and CGI Restrictions"
b. Right Click on "Active Server Pages"
c. Select "Allow"

2. To un-check the "Enforce access checks for this application" option in Component Services:

Open Component Services:
Go to Control Panel ->System and Security->Administrative Tools>Component Services
or
Open Run Command Prompt(Start->Programs->Run) and Type C:\Windows\SysWOW64\comexp.msc

Follow the below steps:
a. Right click COM+ application named "Content Services Web Administration Tools"
b. Select "Properties".
c. Click on "Security" tab on property sheet.
d. Un-check "Enforce access checks for this application" check box
e. Click on OK.
