Problem(Abstract)
Attempts to create a work item from a template in the web UI results in the web page hanging with IBM Rational Team Concert
Symptom
When the work item is created from the template, the web page hangs indefinitely. There is no related error message.
Steps to Reproduce:
- Create a project area using any process template
- Create a work item
- Generate a work item template based on the work item created above
- Open the Web UI for the project
- Create a new work item from the template created in the Step 3. The web page will hang.
Cause
This has been identified as a product defect under APAR PM72591, and tracked by Defect 230649 on jazz.net.
Resolving the problem
This defect has been resolved in RTC 4.0.1, which has not yet GA'ed. Once RTC 4.0.1 is available, it will be on the Rational Team Concert Downloads page.
WORKAROUND:
Create work items from templates in the Eclipse client which will not result in a hang.
