Replication may take a long time even if there is no data to replicate

Technote (FAQ)

Question

Why does DR take hours even if there is no new data since last replication?

Cause

Each backup chain takes about 4-5 minutes to check the local and remote repositories in order to decide if there is a need to replicate data.

Answer

Due to the synchronization time between local and remote repositories, it may take hours for DR to

finish, even if there is no data to replicate. For example, 60 backup chains may take 4-5 hours to

synchronize.
