Problem(Abstract)
"FBSS7011E" and "XR_Freeze::WaitForSingleObject timed out" errors during FastBack VSS flush
Symptom
The snapshot aborts 3 minutes after it was started.
Cause
Some VSS writers didn't freeze within 180 seconds.
Diagnosing the problem
The following errors are printed in the FastBack Client log:
E14.MULTIFLUSH : MultiFlush (EXTERNAL DLL): XR_Freeze::WaitForSingleObject timed out, writers did not freezed in 180 seconds
E18.MULTIFLUSH : MultiFlush_LoopAndLock: VSS_FREEZE_FAILURE
W12.MULTIFLUSH : MultiFlush_LoopAndLock: VSS flush FAILED
The following error appears in the FastBack Server technician log and the snapshot's event:
FBSS7011E VSS freeze failed on ClientName
Resolving the problem
Increase the VSS freeze timeout by adding the "timeout" parameter to FastBackClient.ini:
[VSS]
timeout = 360
The value of the parameter is in seconds.
After editing the FastBackClient.ini, restart the FastBack Client service.
