Question
I have a data file with string variables that has a value labels in them. When I created the Pie Chart using Chart Builder, my variables labels are showing twice in the chart.
What is going on and how can I fix that?
Answer
You are more likely to get this behavior when your variables are String. The COUNT command in GPL doesn't recognize or unable to count the String. This is working as designed. Follow the below instruction to create your Pie Chart.
1. Go to Transform =>Autorecode (The autorecode will change the string variables to numeric)
2. Create new variables in the autorecode dialog
3. Now when doing your Chart Builder, just select the new variables you created from autorecode to do your Pie Chart.
This should help correct your issue.
