IBM Rational DOORS and the date/time system locale change

Technote (FAQ)

Question

I changed the system time on the operating system where the IBM Rational DOORS database is installed. Still the changes in the DOORS modules are picking the old date/time. Why is that and what should I do to have it corrected?

Answer

The time setting is cached in DOORS so you will need to make sure you restart the DOORS server after making the change in the system locale values.

A best practice to make this change is as follows:

  1. Stop the DOORS server.
  2. Make the locale changes.
  3. Start the DOORS server.

This way you will make sure the DOORS server is picking up the correct values.
