Problem(Abstract)

We store various data files on an alternate drive defined on the Modeler Server machine. We've been able to read/write files to this drive using import/export nodes. Now, when browsing from within any of the import/export nodes while connected to the Modeler Server we are unable to see any subdirectories or files that reside on this alternate drive. (E:\) All permissions have been reviewed through the native OS. This drive can be linked in and all files associated to the target directory altered and saved.

Symptom

While connected to Modeler Server and browsing through an import node to a directly that exists to (Excel for example) no files are visible nor subdirectories. If pasting in the direct path including the file name the access denied message is displayed when selecting OK. UNC path fails as well.


Cause

Unknown. Most likely damaged object

Environment

Modeler 14.1 , Windows 2008 R2 64bit VMWare ESX 4.1.

Resolving the problem

Required an uninstall and install of Modeler Server in addition to applying any patches.
