Error when trying to import page options from Clarity Server reportbooks

Technote (troubleshooting)


When a user creates a new reportbook, adds a particular report, and tries to import the page options, an error stating that the template cannot be found appears. The name of the template just added in the reportbook will appear in the error details.


The template could not be found at :

'[path to template]\[template with name containing two consecutive spaces]'.
System.IO.FileNotFoundException. Could not find
''[path to template]\[template with name containing two consecutive spaces]'

* the template name and path will vary according to the environment


This issue is occurring due to extra blank spaces in the report file name.

Diagnosing the problem

- log into Clarity Server

- Go to Reports -> Reportbooks and create a new reportbook

- add a particular report

- import the page options from the template

- observe the error message from the Symptom


Resolving the problem

In order to resolve this issue, check the name of the report and ensure that it does not have any extra spaces. You can do this either by opening the template in Studio or Template Builder and re-saving it with a proper name or by changing the file names manually from the Clarity Application Server.
