IBM Support

Alert mail of "Unprotected Volumes" may not be sent even though the snapshot was aborted.

Troubleshooting

Problem

FastBack Server may not always send the alert mail of "Unprotected Volumes" notification even though the snapshots was aborted.

Cause

By default, the alert mail of the volume failures is sent only when the snapshot is aborted three times consecutively. This behavior is defined by the value of "Volume failures alert number" of "[Heart Beat]" section in orabr_conf.txt.

Resolving The Problem

If you want FastBack Server to send the alert mail at every occurrence of the snapshot aborted, change the value of "Volume failures alert number" in orabr_conf.txt as below.
---
[Heart Beat]
Volume failures alert number = 1
