Is there a built in limit for the length of the SITEID field in maximo 7.5?

Problem

Maximo 7.5 will not allow us to increase the size of SITEID from 8 characters to 20 characters. Going through the DBCONFIG, I am able to successfully set the size to 20. However, while trying to create a new site, the SITEID field is only accepting 12 characters - either through the front end or via MIF. The following is the error message: BMXAA4049E - The value specified exceeds the maximum field length. Enter a value that fits into the length of this attribute.

Resolving The Problem

The size limitation of the Siteid field is related to the size of the Locations.location attribute. In order to allow the siteid to take the amount of characters set in database configuration (in this example 20) you need to set the locations.location attribute to the same size as your new siteid length and then you will be allowed to enter a siteid with a length greater than 12.
