Problem(Abstract)
Opening Schema Library Manager in Datastage Designer fails with the error message:
"The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized"
Symptom
Go to the menu in Datastage Designer client
Click on Import and Schema Library Manager
Popup error appears like "The remote server returned an error: (401) Unauthorized"
Diagnosing the problem
IBM InfoSphere Information Server v8.7 comes with the new feature "Maintenance Mode" that aims to prevent users from authenticating to IBM InfoSphere Information Server during the maintenance. Check if it is set ON or not
Resolving the problem
Ensure that your Infosphere Information Server is not placed into maintenance mode.
If set, take it out of maintenance mode to avoid the error.
