Rich hover requires the domain tool to be a friend

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Rich hover for artifacts may not work unless the corresponding domain tool is registered as a friend of IBM Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager.

Symptom

When you hover the mouse over an artifact link, such as in the search results, the message "More information is not available" is displayed rather than the rich hover preview.

Cause

Domain tools must be added as friends, even if they are on the same Jazz Team Server.

Resolving the problem

Ensure that the corresponding domain tool is a "friend" of Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager, whether or not they reside in the same Jazz Team Server.

1. In Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager, click Application Administration > Manage Application to open the administration interface.

2. Click Application > Friends (Outbound) > Add.
