How to delete RMC plugins when they shared under RTC Source Control

Technote (FAQ)

Question

How do you delete an IBM Rational Method Composer (RMC) plugin when it is shared under IBM Rational Team Concert (RTC) source control?

Cause

Some plugins need to be removed if they are no longer needed.

Answer

In order to delete the RMC plugin from RTC source control, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Navigator view

  2. Right click on the plug-in project, choose Team -> Delete from repository

  3. Ensure that the option "Leave the project in the local workspace" is NOT SELECTED
If you leave this option as selected, the project will remain in the local workspace, but not in the repository

  4. Create an outgoing change set
You can create/edit comments on the change set.

  5. Deliver the change set which contains the plug-in deletion

In order for others to see that the plugin was deleted, they will need to accept the change set which contains the deletion. When other users accept it, if there is any warning in the Problem view for unresolved references, simply re-open the library, and then those unresolved errors will clear up.
