Extraneous artifact information might be shown in Impact Analysis
When displaying an impact analysis diagram in IBM Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager, you might see information about types and other metadata that isn't relevant to the logical view of the artifacts.
Impact analysis might show raw artifact data that doesn't match the user's conceptual view of the data, such as when showing Design Management artifacts.
Impact analysis shows the physical representation of artifacts (the storage-level view) when it doesn't have advance information about their logical representation.
Resolving the problem
This issue is resolved for product artifacts in Rational Engineering Lifecycle Manager 4.0.3 by showing their logical representation. Install it to get the fix.
For other artifacts, ignore the metadata, hide unwanted leaf artifacts (click the artifact and select the 'x' icon from the context menu), or create an impact analysis filter and profile that includes only the relevant link and object types.
For more information about why types or other metadata might appear in an impact analysis diagram, see Impact analysis types.
