Automatically set Rational RequisitePro working directory

News

Abstract

This feature allows a Microsoft Windows® Server administrator to automatically set a "working directory" for all Rational RequisitePro client for Windows (Rational RequisitePro) users working on the server machine. As a result users will not be prompted to manually select a "working directory".

Content

To enable this feature you need to set the "working directory" path for all users working on the server.

This task requires you to have Microsoft Windows Server administrator rights.

Open the Window Registry Editor and navigate to one of the following registry paths:
On a 32-bit version of Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Rational Software\RequisitePro

On a 64-bit version of Windows:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Rational Software\RequisitePro

Create a string value named 'RqWorkspaceAutomatic'.
Set the value to the file system path of the desired working directory for all users on the server.
RqWorkspaceAutomatic = C:\path_to_RequisitePro_working_directory

Note that this directory path needs to be accessible for all users and they need to have read/write permission. If these conditions are not met the directory path will not be applied and the user will be asked to select a "working directory" manually.
