Services and processes critical to keeping the InfoSphere Information Server up and running that can be monitored by the Tivoli monitoring tools.
Which processess and servicess should be monitored by Tivoli monitoring tools to keep InfoSphere Information Server up and running?
The following processes should be monitored:
1) The WebSphere process
2) The Logging Agent and ASB Agent processes (one for each engine installation)
3) The DataStage processes (dsrpc, telnet and resource services -- Windows only).
4) xmeta database (and iadb if present)
For the WebSphere and the agent processes, if you would like to preempt potential issues, monitoring the memory and CPU usage as well as the number of threads of each of these processes is recommended.
Proper threshold values for these can only be determined by testing in the Customer's environment as they will depend of the end-user activities.
