Different timezones for the same events in AEL and LEL

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

The timezone for events is set correctly to local timezone in the Active Event List (AEL). However, when the same event is examined from Lightweight Event List (LEL), the timezone is set incorrectly.

Symptom

The timezone for events in AEL and LEL do not match.

Cause

The timezone for LEL is set based on each user preference.

Resolving the problem

While the timezone setting in AEL can be configured by accessing Edit menu -> Preferences -> Misc tab, LEL page doesn't have any menu.

You can change the LEL timezone setting by editing the user preference file. On the WebGUI server, navigate to the following directory:

$TIP_HOME/profiles/TIPProfile/etc/webtop/configstore/ncwUserPreferences

In that directory, there's a .nova file belonging to the user who is experiencing the problem. The filename is named <username>.nova

Open the .nova file and examine the timezone setting for the user. The setting looks like the following:

timezone="GMT+08:00",

If the timezone is not set to the local timezone, edit the file and save it. The changes will take effect immediately when you refresh the LEL.
