How can You Control Where Temporary Tables go During an Archive?
Ontape and onbar archives often use temporary space on disk. How do you control which dbspaces are used?
Resolving the problem
Transaction activity during an archive generates before-images in the physical log. These cannot be written to the parent table extents during archive checkpoints and are instead written to temporary tables. The temporary table contents are ultimately added to the archive media. An ontape or onbar archive locates the temporary tables in the rootdbspace by default. If you want the archive to use other spaces, set those spaces using DBSPACETEMP in the configuration file or the environment. If both are set, the environment DBSPACETEMP setting overrides the configuration setting. The temporary tables can be created in regular dbspaces and temporary dbspaces.
