Question & Answer
Question
What files are needed to move an IBM Rational Change Life Cycle to another Rational Change installation?
Cause
When upgrading from one version of Rational Change to another, you may want to keep the existing Rational Change Life Cycle.
Answer
To copy the lifecycle process from one Change installation to another, you should copy the following files and directories from the old installation to the new one. Make backups of existing files in the new destination so you do not lose the original out-of-the-box copies:
1. The process lifecycle definition file:
CHANGE_HOME/jetty/webapps/change/WEB-INF/cr_process/processname.xml
2. A process package is built using a template. If any files in the package template used in the old installation have been added or customized, copy the package template directory:
CHANGE_HOME/jetty/webapps/change/WEB-INF/package_templates/template_name
3. Listbox values:
CHANGE_HOME/jetty/webapps/change/WEB-INF/wsconfig/pt_listbox.cfg
4. If any listboxes are populated using external files or scripts, copy them as well.
File listboxes are stored in:
CHANGE_HOME/jetty/webapps/change/WEB-INF/wsconfig/templates/pt/etc/
Listbox scripts are found in:
<CHANGE_HOME>/jetty/webapps/change/WEB-INF/wsconfig/scripts/listbox
After copying the needed file/directories over, open the process lifecycle definition file in the Change Admin interface and build the process package, then install it.
