Generating makefiles in Rhapsody results in duplicate path entries

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Attempts to generate makefiles in IBM Rational Rhapsody results in path entries being duplicated.

Symptom

You are generating code in Rhapsody. This includes makefiles. When you review the makefiles, you see that there are path statements that are duplicated.

Cause

This path duplication is generated if the dependency on another component (which contains this path) is defined with Specification or Implementation Usage.

Resolving the problem

You can define the makefile with Existence usage to avoid duplicated paths to be added.
