Flash (Alert)

Abstract

Identity Insight throws a Java exception when using Oracle Client JDBC driver version 11.2.0.2.0 and 11.2.0.3.0:

"java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Neither the precision, nor the scale may be negative. precision=[ 0 ], scale=[ -127 ] ".

Content

Identity Insight gives "java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Neither the precision, nor the scale may be negative. precision=[ 0 ], scale=[ -127 ] "

The Oracle Client JDBC driver version 11.2.0.2.0 and 11.2.0.3.0 contains a bug with returning column scale information, which causes this exception.

Side effects of this issue include the inability to log into the Configuration Console, and failure to start the CMEAdmin processes during pipeline startup, when enabling Application Monitoring.

To mitigate the issue, you must use the Oracle Client JDBC driver version 11.2.01.0.
