Essbase 11 is on the iSeries and Web Analysis is on a Windows system. In this instance the iSeries profile and password was the same as the Windows profile and password. When the iSeries password would change it wouldn't change for the Web Analysis Shared Services and it would have to be done manually.

Resolving the problem
If possble configure a Microsoft Active Directory, (MSAD or LDAP), User Directory in Shared Services for both Essbase11 and Web Analysis and point them to your MSAD. This is done by going into Shared Services and clicking on Administration in the menu options and selecting Configure User Directories. Fill in the parameters with an "*" by them and save it. NOTE: in some instances you will need to Edit the configuration and select the MSAD User Configuration tab and set the Login Attribute parameter to the sAMAccountName for it to show the proper userid. Once the configuration is finished the sort order for the user directories will need to be changed to point to the newly created MSAD directory first. This is done by going into Shared Services and clicking on the Administration menu option and selecting Configure User Directories. This will display the Provider Configuration tab. Select the radio button next to the newly created MSAD configuration and then select the Move Up button at the top. This will cause Shared Services to search the MSAD directory first when validating a user logging in. Shared Services must then be recycled for the changes to take effect, but is recommended that all Essbase11 servers and/or Web Analysis services be recycled.
