Installing WebSphere Operational Decision Management with DB2 for z/OS

Technote (troubleshooting)


Problem(Abstract)

In a distributed configuration, when using the Decision Center console and the Rule Execution Server installation manager to configure a DB2 for z/OS database the setup does not work properly and results in errors.

Cause

DB2 for z/OS database requires specific configuration that is provided with dedicated z/OS scripts.

Environment

DB2 on z/OS used with a distributed installation of WebSphere Operational Decision Management

Resolving the problem

For release V7.5
On the z/OS machine where DB2 is installed use the files in the attached ZIP file:DB2onZOS.zipDB2onZOS.zip

For Decision Center :
  • To create the tables use HBRDCCDB.jcl
  • To grant authority to the tables use HBRDCGRN.jcl
For Decision Server :
  • To create the RULEAPP tables use HBRDSCDB.jcl
  • To create the XOM table use HBRDSXOM.jcl
  • To create the EXECUTION_TRACES tables HBRDSCTR.jcl
  • To grant authority to the tables use HBRDSGRN.jcl
