Security Bulletin: URL Manipulation Vulnerability in IBM WebSphere Portal versions 7.0.0.x and 8.0 (CVE-2012-2181)
A URL manipulation security vulnerability has been found in the dojo module for WebSphere Portal versions 7.0.0.x and 8.0.
IBM WebSphere Portal could allow a remote attacker to traverse directories on the system. An attacker could send a specially-crafted URL request to view arbitrary files on the system and obtain sensitive information. This information could be used to launch further attacks against the affected system. This vulnerability is susceptible to an exploit in the wild.

APAR PM64172 has been provided to address this issue. The APAR is included in Cumulative Fix 14 or higher for WebSphere Portal v220.127.116.11 and v18.104.22.168. For WebSphere Portal v8 the APAR is available as an interim fix for WebSphere Portal 8.0 and also included in Cumulative Fix 1 or higher.
