ElementTooShort - Sterling Gentran:Server for UNIX

Technote (troubleshooting)


When leading zeroes in data in IEA02 (in this case), translation fails with ElementTooShort 116 error.
Note: Element Properties > Validation > Minimum and Maximum allowed lengths of this field is set correctly.

In the map, the Element Properties > Validation > data-type field is defined as Number instead of String.

Resolving the problem

On both the source and destination sides of the map, change the Element Properties > Validation > data-type field from Number to String and change the Element Properties > Validation > format of the data field from N0 to X, Save the map, recompile the map and check it in.
