Misleading description of ITCAM anchors in WebLogic startup scripts

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

In "Configuring the ITCAM for J2EE Data Collector"
documentation, in section: "Pre-configuration steps for
supporting customized startup script for WebLogic"
the description of the first anchor is misleading.

Symptom

WebLogic is not monitored by ITCAM

Cause

Wrong description of ITCAM anchors in documentation

Environment

All WebLogic Servers

Diagnosing the problem

Right now in the ITCAM documentation: http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/tivihelp/v3r1/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.itcamwas_j.doc_6.1%2Fitcam_61_4_j2ee_dc_install_guide71.htm&path=12_5_7_0

the description of the first anchor is:
<VAR_SERVER_NAME> is the WebLogic server instance name.
As WebLogic server instance name can be defined dynamically,
<VAR_SERVER_NAME> is the variable that specifies the WebLogic
server instance name. If omitted, the default value is
SERVER_NAME.
Examples:
Add the following line in a customized script on UNIX:
#### ITCAM_DC_SCRIPT, server1
Add the following line in a customized script on Windows:
REM ITCAM_DC_SCRIPT, server1

Many times, server1 in above example, is interpreted as the
server name and after DC configuration in WebLogic startup
script this wrong line is inserted:
if [ "${server1}" = "server1" ] ; then (...)
Because of this the code responsible for inserting ITCAM java
options is not invoked.

If the customer set this anchor #### ITCAM_DC_SCRIPT or
#### ITCAM_DC_SCRIPT, SERVER_NAME in the script this line is
inserted:
if [ "${SERVER_NAME}" = "server1" ] ; then (...)
This correct code add ITCAM options in the case server1
instance of WebLogic server is started.

Resolving the problem

The description of the first anchor should be:

<VAR_SERVER_NAME> is the WebLogic startup script
variable name which contains the server instance name.
The default variable name is 'SERVER_NAME'. In rare cases,
when it has changed, this changed variable name should be used
in the anchor.

Examples:
Add the following line in a customized script on UNIX:
#### ITCAM_DC_SCRIPT, SERVER_NAME
Add the following line in a customized script on Windows:
REM ITCAM_DC_SCRIPT, SERVER_NAME
