Rational RequisitePro client for Microsoft Windows implements new external project connectivity technique

News

Abstract

A new technique for adding external projects in Rational® RequisitePro client for Microsoft® Windows is available starting in versions 7.1.1.6, 7.1.2.3, and 7.1.3.

Content

Rational RequisitePro was modified to connect to projects in the same way as Rational RequisiteWeb. This causes previous versions of Rational RequisitePro to be unable to read the new connectivity technique for external projects.

If two or more versions with and without the new technique are used, you will see the following error when connecting external projects:
The external project named [Project Name] does not contain a reference back to the current project. Please contact an Administrator...

In order to avoid this error message, you must upgrade all RequisitePro client for Windows clients to the same version, at versions 7.1.1.6, 7.1.2.3, 7.1.3 or higher. After you move to a newer version, it is recommended that you not continue to use the older version.
