Technote (troubleshooting)
Problem(Abstract)
User clicks "Transfer - External Data - Import from Framework Manager". User selects/chooses import specification. User clicks 'Run'.
There is a delay (during which the message "Importing external data" is visable at the bottom-left corner). After some time (for example 135 seconds in one real-life case) an error appears.

Cause
There are several possible causes for the same screen message.

This Technote specifically relates to the scenario where the cause is a code production (reference APAR PM70221) problem in Controller.
Environment
Cognos BI (Report Server) configured to use standard (non-anonymous) authentication.
- In other words, inside "Cognos Configuration" the value of "Allow Anonymous Access" is set to "False".
Resolving the problem
Fix:
Upgrade to Controller 10.1.1 FP1 (10.1.1671) or later.
