Polling does not start after recovery
Polling does not start after recovering from a WebSphere Application Server restart, following an application server crash.
There are no exceptions in the logs, but we can observe the following messages related to endpoint activation before the application server crash:
FFRA001 I com.ibm.j2ca.base.internal.EndpointManager startPolling CWYBS0011I: Polling has started. UserAction=No action is required.
ActivationSpe I J2CA0523I: The Message Endpoint for ActivationSpec FFInbound/FlatFileExport_AS (com.ibm.j2ca.flatfile.FlatFileActivationSpecWithXidWithHA) and MDB Application FFInboundApp#FFInboundFlatFileExport#FFInbound is activated.
There are no trace statements related to endpoint activation in the logs after restarting the application server post the server crash.
There is a timing issue in WebSphere Application Server. If the end points are deferred during startup and the HAManager tries to resume the endpoints before the server startup, then the endpoints will never get enabled.
