Unexpected behaviour in the reports portlets of the IBM Traffic Information Hub when Cognos services are not running

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Clicking the Back button after all Cognos® services have been stopped displays instances of the IBM® Intelligent Transportation solution interface in each of the reports portlets, instead of displaying a message that Cognos is not available.

Symptom

Cognos is used in the IBM Traffic Information Hub to provide measuring, monitoring, and reporting metrics. If the user stops all Cognos processes while using the Cognos portal and then clicks the Back button, each instance of the reports portlets display the Traffic Information Hub main portal. A message should display instead indicating that Cognos is not available.

Resolving the problem

This is a known problem currently under investigation.

To work around this problem, refresh the portal without clicking the Back button after the Cognos services are restarted.
