Problem
The tmp folder filling up with XCTmp_Pxxx.tmp files with Webform Server 3.5.X
Symptom
The tmp folder filling up with XCTmp_Pxxx.tmp files.
Cause
The XCTmp files are needed by Java for images and because there is a issue related to Java used by version 3.5.1.X the IBM Forms team cannot make any product changes to resolve this issue in this version.
Resolving the problem
The XCTmp files will not cause a performance or functionality problem and removing them is not an issue. These file are used by Java for images. The clean up of these files is a bug in version 3.5.1.X that cannot be resolved with this version as the underlying problem is related to the Java version itself.
The work around for Webform Server 3.5.1.X is to run a cron job (UNIX) or task (Windows) that removes these files.
This issue is resolved in Webform Server 4.0. Should you upgrade this problem will be resolved and you will not need to run the cron job or task.
