Adding chunks to IBM Informix for a Windows IBM Cognos Virtual View Manager Installation
1. Stop the IBM Cognos Virtual View Manger service.
2. Go to C:\IFMXDATA\VVMRepository directory.
3. Create an empty file with any name, say repomaindbs_dat.001
4. On Windows, open the informix command prompt via start menu>IBM Informix Dynamic Server>VVMRepository option.
5. Set the following environment variable: set DB_LOCALE=EN_US.utf8
6. Execute the following command to add a chunk of 500MB size:
“onspaces -a repomaindbs -p C:\IFMXDATA\VVMRepository\repomaindbs_dat.001 -o 0 -s 500000k”
Output of the command should look something like this:
Verifying physical disk space, please wait ...
Chunk successfully added.
7. Start the IBM Cognos Virtual View Manger service and re-import metadata objects.

Adding chunks to IBM Informix for a UNIX IBM Cognos Virtual View Manager Installation

1. Stop the IBM Cognos Virtual View Manager service.
2. Go to <vvm_install_location>/apps/informix/data

export INFORMIXDIR=<vvm_install_location>/apps/informix
export INFORMIXSERVER=VVMRepository
export ONCONFIG= onconfig.VVMRepository
export DB_LOCALE=EN_US.utf8
7. Switch to <vvm_install_location>/apps/informix/bin directory and execute the following command to add a chunk of 500MB size :
“./onspaces -a repomaindbs -p <vvm_install_location>/apps/informix/data/repomaindbs_dat.001 -o 0 -s 500000k”

Output of the command should look something like this:
Verifying physical disk space, please wait ...
Chunk successfully added.
8. Start the IBM Cognos Virtual View Manger service and re-import metadata objects
