ANR0162W along with SQL1652N File I/O error occurred.

Troubleshooting


Problem

After a Tivoli Storage Manager server crash, the server fails to start with ANR0162W.

Symptom

An example of errors received when trying to start the server follows :

ANR0172I rdbdb.c(1371): Error encountered performing action InstanceStop.
ANR0162W Supplemental database diagnostic information:  -1652:**No State
Information Available (-2)**:-1652 (SQL1652N  File I/O error occurred.).

Cause

File System Full

Diagnosing The Problem

Review the 'errpt -a' output for file system full messages. For example :

UNABLE TO ALLOCATE SPACE IN FILE SYSTEM
Probable Causes
FILE SYSTEM FULL
Recommended Actions
INCREASE THE SIZE OF THE ASSOCIATED FILE SYSTEM
REMOVE UNNECESSARY DATA FROM FILE SYSTEM
USE FUSER UTILITY TO LOCATE UNLINKED FILES STILL REFERENCED

Resolving The Problem

In this example, the Tivoli Storage Manager server failed to start because the /home file system was full. The server instance directory was located in the /home file system. Make room or add space to the file system that is full in order to start the server.
