Question
How do you share an IBM Rational Functional Tester (RFT) workspace between 2 different users?
Cause
Attempts to open an RFT workspace created by a different user in Windows 2008 R2 server results in the following message:
Workspace in use or cannot be created, choose a different one.
Answer
You can share a workspace between 2 different users provided that this workspace (folder) is shared among these users.
In order to share a workspace (folder):
- Right click the folder and go to Share with... > Specific people
- Add a user you want to share the workspace with or add yourself if you want to use a workspace created by different user.
