Event Pump address space hangs at shutdown due to GTM7874E messages after a TCP/IP restart.
Event Pump address space will not shutdown normally with a 'STOP' command and needs to be cancelled.
A restart of TCP/IP while Tivoli Event Pump is active will cause the Event Pump to return errors attempting to do a TCP/IP WRITE request. Reason code 0000040C is
|ERRNO 1036 (40C) EIBMNOACTIVETCP error code. This error code is returned for cases when the TCP/IP address space is not available anymore. Tivoli Event Pump does not reinitialize TCP/IP connections if TCP/IP is taken down while Event Pump is still active.|
Diagnosing the problem
Review the Event Pump job output and look for the following message, possibly repeating multiple times:
|GTM7874E ERROR DURING TCP/IP WRITE REQUEST RC=FFFFFFFF REASON=0000040C
Resolving the problem
Restart the Event Pump address space in order for it to reinitialize it's TCP/IP connection. Any future TCP/IP restarts should only occur after stopping the Event Pump address space prior.
