Problem(Abstract)
Running a Trial Balance report in Controller 10.1 takes much longer than when using Controller 8.
Symptom
For example, in one real-life example:
- Controller 8.x - Report takes approximately 3 seconds
- Controller 10.1 - takes about 12 seconds.
Cause
There are several possible causes for slow TBWD performance.

This IBM Technote specifically relates to the scenario where the cause is a code production problem ( APAR PM61165) in Controller 10.1.
Resolving the problem
Upgrade to Controller 10.1.1 (10.1.1305) or later.
- Alternatively, if using Controller 10.1.395 or earlier, it is possible to instead upgrade to Controller 10.1.397 or later)
For example, in one test environment, it was found that the code fix improved the report time from approximately 50 seconds to 10-15 seconds.
