Link status in LMI does not reflect correct link status on GX3002 appliance with Link Propagation enabled (default setting)

Question

Why does the link status in the LMI show an incorrect status on your firmware 4.3 GX3002 appliance?

Cause

In firmware 4.3, the local CRM.db is not updated correctly with an adapter status when the port is suspended from link propagation. As a result, the statuses in the CRM.db can become out of sync with the actual status of the monitoring interfaces.

Answer

This is a cosmetic issue and does not affect the function of the device.

There is a fix available in the CRM/CSF/LMI patch 13 or greater. Contact contact IBM Security Systems Customer Support if you need the patch. This fix is also included in subsequent firmware releases.
