The Identity Insight Visualizer crashes when attempting to open a Report on Windows 7 Operating System.
The Identity Insight Visualizer fails as soon as you click the "Run Report" button. No error messages are displayed or logged. The browser displays a black box instead of the PDF.
The Visualizer is not configured to run in compatibility mode on Windows 7 OS due to Windows Security changes.
Resolving the problem
To run the Visualizer from a Windows 7 client, Download & Install the IBM InfoSphere Visualizer Client installer.
Next enable 'Windows Compatibility mode' for the javaws.exe that is installed:
- Right click on <Visualizer_Client_Install>\java\jre\bin\javaws.exe and choose 'Properties'.
- Click on the Compatibility tab.
- Under the Compatibility mode section, select "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and choose the drop down text "Select Windows XP (Service Pack 3)".
Hit 'Apply' and 'OK' to save the changes and re-launch the Identity Insight Visualizer. Retrace the steps to generate Reports and the Reports should now open.
