The Line Item Details feature (LID) of Clarity Server gives the user the possibility to view individual values that make up a cube amount. Although the Line Item Details button is found in OLAP documents, the detailed values are stored in a relational database, and are then linked to (and used to calculate) the value of the OLAP member to which the command is applied.
After deleting a LID entry in Clarity reports, the entry is not deleted and duplicate LIDs are added to the report instead.
Duplicate entries in CellIntersections table for particular intersections. For every entry in the CellIntersections table, for a particular intersection, a LID record is created..
IBM Clarity Server 7.x
Diagnosing the problem
- Open a report that contains LIDs
- Try to delete an existing LID entry
- Save the report and then retrieve it - notice that the LID is still present and other LIDs are added to the same intersection
- Look in the CellIntersections table in the Clarity database for the intersection on which the LID was deleted and notice that there are more than one CellIntersectionIds for the same intersection
Resolving the problem
The solution is to manually delete the duplicate rows from the table CellIntersections; if the rows were duplicated by a third party application (for example, a SQL Server Integration Services package, then perhaps the same application can be used to remove the duplicate rows).
