Announcement: End of Support (EOS) for WebSphere MQ V6

Abstract

On September 30 2012, IBM will withdraw support for WebSphere MQ V6.0 under the International Program License Agreement (IPLA). The replacement product is WebSphere MQ for Multiplatforms V7.x.
Support will be withdrawn for all Websphere MQ V6.0 components

How do I check which version of MQ I am currently running?

Use the command dspmqver to determine the version of WebSphere MQ you have installed on distributed platforms. For z/OS, look at the CSQY000I message in the MSTR joblog, for example: CSQY000I IBM WebSphere MQ for z/OS V6.0

How do I purchase a Support Extension?

Support extensions may be purchased for an additional fee. To extend your support of your Websphere MQ V6.0 , please contact your local IBM Sales Representative.

US Customers, contact Customer Support Operations at option #2. If you give them the customer number they can quickly find the account representative for you.

Customers in other geographies should refer to the IBM directory of worldwide support contacts to find sales contact numbers in your region.

The following information is available to assist you in migrating to a supported version of WebSphere MQ :

When the server product goes out of support, does the client also go out of support?

The Websphere MQ V6.0 clients go out of support at the same time that the server does.

I am using Websphere MQ V6.0 as part of a bundle, am I still supported?

Yes, support is available for all IBM components of a product or until the product or bundle is withdrawn from support. In addition, all components of a bundle have a common EOS date.

Is the documentation for MQ V6.0 still available?

The Websphere MQ Information Center and PDF manuals for Version 6 are still available. However, they will no longer be updated. For information about the Websphere MQ Information Center and PDF manuals for Version 6, see the Websphere MQ Library page.

How do I obtain Websphere MQ V6.0 image if I still need it?

The Websphere MQ V6.0 server editions are available for download on Passport Advantage if you previously purchased them.

Is there any MQ V7 trial version available for download?

You may obtain a trial version of WebSphere MQ V7.5 : This trial has all features enabled. This trial is for an evaluation period of 90 days.
