Clicking a RequisitePro Link in an RQM Report Brings up an XML Page

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

Attempts to click on an IBM Rational RequisitePro link in an IBM Rational Quality Manager (RQM) report results in an XML page being displayed instead of the expected RequisitePro page.

Symptom

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. In an RQM project with a RequisitePro integration, run a report which would show the requirements (such as the Requirements Traceability Report)

  2. Click one of the requirement links

  3. A new page will open similar to the following:

    Requirement XML Feed

Cause

In RQM 3.0.1, the URL for RequisitePro requirements comes directly from the data warehouse (where reports typically gather their data from). This URL is the API feed URL which RQM is able to recognize as the RequisitePro requirement while the report is not configured to point to the actual RequisitePro requirement.

The ability for the link to actually point to the expected RequisitePro page was identified in work item 51740 on jazz.net.

Resolving the problem

This issue can be resolved by upgrading from RQM 3.0.1 to RQM 3.0.1.1 or higher.
