Question

How does Reporter keep connection to the Database?

Answer

Reporter keeps active connections to Database at all times.

Reporter has two types of Oracle Connection.

1. Oracle connection for Reporter Repository, which responsible for Reportuserid, Userid object, such as report snapshot, Publish Report, report definition file and etc..

2. Oracle connection for Report generation. For #1 type of connection, Reporter maintain usually 2 to 16 connections as needed to maintain cache for Reporter Repository.
