WebSphere MQ FTE version 7.0 unable to transfer zero byte file

Technote (troubleshooting)

Problem(Abstract)

You are attempting a file transfer of a zero byte file via WebSphere MQ File Transfer Edition (WMQ FTE). When attempting to transfer a zero byte file, the timestamp of the destination file is not updated. The file transfer works as expected when the file is not zero bytes.

Cause

The agent properties file includes doNotUseTempOutputFile, which is considered to be "on" when present in this file.

Resolving the problem

The doNotUseTempOutputFile property is not like other properties. If doNotUseTempOutputFile is set to anything then it is on. Therefore, in order to disable it, you must either comment it out or remove it from the agent properties file altogether.
