Post-Action Behavior

Technote (FAQ)

Question

What is the behavior of the Post-Action?

Answer

This is for single actions and sub actions in group actions:
If a command in an action fails, we do not attempt subsequent action commands in that action and we do not perform any restart or shutdown behavior included in that action.

The success or failure of the entire action is then determined by the success criteria, which may need to wait for a restart if a restart post action actually happens.

For the ending behavior in group actions, it depends on the "continue on error" attribute of the group action. If the group is set to "continue on error", then a post group restart will happen even if one of the sub actions fail. If it is not set to "continue on error", then all relevant sub actions must run and succeed before the post action restart can happen.
