Question
The correct procedure to uninstall a stand-alone TDWC instance is to run its uninstaller program. If this is not possible, for example for a failed installation or uninstallation, a manual procedure is required. This technote provides details about how to manually uninstall a Tivoli Dynamic Workload Console instance both when you have installed the general availability level and when you have installed a fix pack.
Cause
The uninstallation of a stand-alone TDWC instance using its uninstaller program fails. To uninstall it a manual procedure is required.
This technote provides details about how to manually remove a Tivoli Dynamic Workload Console instance at any Fix Pack level (including the general availability)
On Windows operating systems
1. Uninstall the Tivoli Integrated Portal:
- Download the package provided with this technote and extract it to the target machine in the %ProgramFiles%\IBM\Common\acsi path
- If you have:
- Already removed the Dynamic Workload Console, perform the following steps:
- Edit the file <eImages>\TDWC\WEBUI\<windows_operating_system>\scripts\cleanDE.bat.
- Change the "deleteRootIU.bat" string to the "delRootIUnRelationships.bat" string.
- Run the cleanDE.bat script using the following command:
- Not removed the Dynamic Workload Console that is not working, perform the following steps:
- Edit the file <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>\TDWC\_tdwcutils\scripts\cleanDE.bat
- Change the "deleteRootIU.bat string to "delRootIUnRelationships.bat"
- Run the cleanDE.bat script using the following command:
- <eImages>\TDWC\WEBUI\<windows_operating_system>\scripts\cleanDE.bat -installRoot <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>\eWAS -force true
- <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>\TDWC\_tdwcutils\scripts\cleanDE.bat -installRoot <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>\eWAS -force true
- 2. Stop the following service:
- Take note of the <n> number, in the file <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>\twainstance<n>.id. This number indicates the Tivoli Workload Automation instance number,
- Remove the following files:
<TWA_INSTALL_DIR>\bin\WASService –stop TIPProfile_Port_defaulthost_port
3. Remove the following service:
<TWA_INSTALL_DIR>\eWAS\bin\wasservice.exe –remove TDWC_admin_username
4. Remove the ISMP installation registry directory, located in the %CommonProgramFiles%\InstallShield\Universal\TDWC path
5. Remove the Tivoli Workload Automation registry file. To do this,
- %WINDIR%\TWA\twainstance<n>.TWA.properties
%WINDIR%\TWA\twainstance<n>.TWA.properties.ext
- 6. Delete the following registry key:
- HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ e625666383dedb70850864e2a6feaa2e1371705039
On UNIX operating system
1.Uninstall the Tivoli Integrated Portal:
- Download the package provided with this technote and extract it to the target machine in the /usr/ibm/common/acsi path
- If you have:
- Already removed the Dynamic Workload Console, perform the following steps:
- Edit the file <eImages>/TDWC/WEBUI/<unix_operating_system>/scripts/cleanDE.sh.
- Change the "deleteRootIU.sh" string to the "delRootIUnRelationships.sh" string.
- Run the cleanDE.sh script using the following command:
- Not removed the Dynamic Workload Console that is not working, perform the following steps:
- Edit the file <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>/TDWC/_tdwcutils\scripts/cleanDE.sh
- Change the "deleteRootIU.sh" string to the "delRootIUnRelationships.sh" string.
- Run the cleanDE.sh script using the following command:
- <eImages>/TDWC/WEBUI/<unix_operating_system>/scripts/cleanDE.sh -installRoot <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>/eWAS -force true
- <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>/TDWC/_tdwcutils/scripts/cleanDE.sh -installRoot <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>/eWAS -force true
2. Stop the Application Server, running the following wastools command:
- <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>/wastools/stopWas.sh
3. Remove the ISMP installation registry directory, located in:
- For the AIX operating system:
- For the UNIX and Linux operating systems:
/usr/lib/objrepos/InstallShield/Universal/TDWC
<ROOT_HOME>/InstallShield/Universal/TDWC
4. Remove the Tivoli Workload Automation registry file. To do this,
- Take note of the <n> number in the file <TWA_INSTALL_DIR>\twainstance<n>.id, This number indicates the Tivoli Workload Automation instance number.
- Remove the following files:
- /etc/TWA/twainstance<n>.TWA.properties
- /etc/TWA/twainstance<n>.TWA.properties.ext
